Windows 11 23H2 Enterprise and Education stop getting security updates on Nov 10, 2026
Microsoft confirms that Windows 11 version 23H2 Enterprise and Education editions reach end of updates on November 10, 2026. Businesses and schools still running these editions should move devices to a supported Windows 11 version.
According to Microsoft's Windows release health page, the Enterprise and Education editions of Windows 11 version 23H2 reach end of updates on November 10, 2026. After that date, devices on these editions will stop getting monthly security updates. Microsoft has posted a 30-day reminder in its message center.
Which editions are affected
- Windows 11 23H2 Enterprise and Windows 11 23H2 Education: end of updates on November 10, 2026.
- Windows 11 23H2 Home and Pro: these editions already reached end of updates on November 11, 2025, so this change doesn't affect them.
This mainly affects companies, schools and organizations with Enterprise or Education devices that are still on 23H2.
What stops after November 10, 2026
Microsoft says these devices will no longer get monthly security updates, so they won't be patched against new threats. Microsoft does not say the devices will stop working.
What to do
- Check which Windows version each device runs under Settings > System > About.
- Microsoft recommends updating eligible devices to a supported version of Windows 11 so they keep getting monthly security updates.
- When a device is ready, Windows Update shows a Download and install option.
