On October 13, 2026, Google rolled out Gemini 4 Argon, its most capable model so far, worldwide. Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra subscribers can use Argon in the Gemini app and in AI Mode in Search. Developers and businesses can access it through the API in AI Studio and Gemini platform.
Who can use it, and where
According to Google's blog, Gemini 4 Argon is available as follows:
- Google AI Pro and Ultra: in the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search.
- Google AI Ultra only: also in Google Antigravity, Google's agent-based coding platform.
- Developers and businesses: through the API in Google AI Studio and Gemini platform.
The announcement doesn't mention free Gemini users. To use Argon in the Gemini app, you need a Pro or Ultra plan.
What Argon is built for
Google says Argon is strong at complex tasks that take many steps, such as coding, finance, legal work, cybersecurity and science. The company says Argon ranks first on the Vals Index, which rates models in areas such as finance, coding, legal and tax work. In the Gemini app, Google says Argon gives more direct answers, repeats itself less and reports its progress more often during long tasks.
API pricing for developers
Argon has an introductory price of $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens. Cached input tokens are 95% off. Google labels this an introductory price, so it may change later.
What you need to do
If you have a Google AI Pro or Ultra plan, open the Gemini app to find Argon. Teams that want to build it into their products can select Gemini 4 Argon in AI Studio. Check Google's pricing page before running heavy workloads.
