Starting October 13, 2026, Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers can use the Gemini 4 Argon model in the Gemini app. The same update adds a tasks mode and brings Google Antigravity's coding interface into the Gemini app on macOS.
Who gets it
Google says Gemini 4 Argon and the ability to hand tasks to Gemini are available to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. The post doesn't mention access for free accounts.
What changes in chat
- Google says Argon gets to the point faster, hedges less, avoids needless repetition and skips clichés.
- On longer jobs, it reports its progress more often so you know where things stand.
- Coding is also much improved. On macOS, Google Antigravity's agentic coding interface now sits inside the Gemini app, so you can move between chatting and coding.
Tasks mode and connected apps
The main chat window now has a toggle to switch from chat to tasks. In tasks mode, Gemini keeps working even when you're away from your computer, across Google apps and others. Gemini now connects to more than 40 apps, including Instacart, OpenTable, Adobe and Shopify.
What to do
If you're on Google AI Pro or Ultra, you can open the Gemini app and try it now. The post doesn't give a country-by-country rollout schedule.
