ColorOS 17 goes global: OPPO phones get an AI agent and text-based photo editing, rolling out gradually

OPPO announced ColorOS 17 for global markets on October 13, 2026. It adds an Agent Mode to AI Mind Pilot, AI Photo Agent, an upgraded AI Mind Space and a Transparency Report covering AI data use. The Find X10 series ships with ColorOS 17, and other OPPO devices will get it gradually.

OPPO announced ColorOS 17 for global markets on October 13, 2026. The update adds an Agent Mode that lets the AI carry out multi-step tasks, a photo editor that works from text instructions, and new privacy tools. The upcoming Find X10 series will ship with ColorOS 17, and other OPPO devices will get it gradually.

New AI features

  • AI Mind Pilot Agent Mode: works directly with photos and files stored on the phone. OPPO says it can find and organize scattered files, rename them based on their content and date, and use what's inside them to build travel itineraries or webpages. It can also find photos from a trip and sort them into albums.
  • AI Photo Agent: describe the edit you want in plain language, or give it a reference image and it will copy that image's colors and mood. It can also suggest edits on its own. OPPO says the feature will roll out gradually by country, has monthly usage limits that vary by region, and only works on still images.
  • AI Mind Space: can now save documents and video links. The AI reads the content and turns it into searchable collections.
  • AI Mind Suggest and OSee: AI Mind Suggest offers a morning brief, flight reminders and music suggestions when headphones are connected. OSee uses the camera to identify objects for lookup, translation and scanning. Some services are only available in certain countries.

Security and privacy

ColorOS 17 adds a Transparency Report that shows which AI services you used, when you used them and what they did. You can view it on the phone and export it. OPPO also adds post-quantum encryption to data sent to its Private Computing Cloud for cloud-based AI processing. A new feature called AI Call Guard uses on-device AI to warn about calls that may involve fake voices or face swaps. It is limited to certain markets, and OPPO has not said whether Vietnam is one of them.

When devices get the update

You don't need to do anything yet. OPPO says the update will reach devices in stages, and the schedule for each model is on the official ColorOS 17 website. On performance, OPPO cites its own lab data: app launches are up to 55% more stable, and over 25% more apps stay running in the background compared with ColorOS 16.
